Deep Winter

Deep Winter is the Winter family at its darkest, an evening walk through a misty forest rather than a bright winter morning. Value dominates here just as it does in Deep Autumn, but the undertone flips cool: silver reads better than gold, and skin looks clear rather than ruddy. Chroma sits at medium-bright, enough saturation to hold its own against this much depth without tipping into the very highest clarity of True Winter or Bright Winter. Skin ranges from fair to deep with a neutral-to-cool undertone, usually reading clear rather than warm or ruddy. Hair runs medium brown to black, generally neutral or slightly ashy with no real natural highlights. Eyes tend toward dark brown, black, very dark olive, deep hazel or a cool, deep blue, with visible iris borders and spokes that read distinctly against the sclera. High contrast between hair, skin and eyes is the defining feature, since this coloring holds up against real depth and real saturation at once.
